ALASKA FLY FISHING
FISHING for STeeLHEAD
Alaska fly fishing is synonymous with great steelhead fishing and the Kenai Peninsula is one of the best areas to target Alaska steelhead. Most anglers have the opportunity to land steelhead on any trip. Your guide will put you in position to have a successful trip. We just ask that you fish hard and have patience. The best time to fish for steelhead is from mid September through November.
Rainbow TROUT on the fly
Summertime is a great time for rainbow trout. Our guides are experts when it comes to knowing when and where to catch these brutes, and we’ll guide you right where you need to be. Fishing for rainbow trout is good in mid-late June and mid July until the beginning of August, then it really heats up in September and on into October. The average size of Kenai River trout is anywhere from 14-25 inches during the summer. Larger fish are hooked and landed as well but not as often until the fall months. During the fall the catch rate improves drastically and the bigger trout come out to play!

WHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR ALASKA FLY FISHING TRIP
There’s not much for you to bring for your trip, just your standard fishing gear. If you have your own rod, feel free to bring it. We provide the flies/beads, and 10′ 7 or 8 weight single hand fly rods (Echo) and Spey rods if you are looking to swing flies (let your guide know if you are proficient in 2 handed casting).
