King salmon are the largest Pacific salmon out there, and we have the stats to prove it. We drift the Kasilof River for kings since the Kenai is currently closed to king fishing. The best time to fish for Kasilof kings is mid-May through July.

Silver Salmon
Silvers are an acrobatic and lively fish when you get one on the end of your line. They can weigh anywhere from about 6-18 pounds on the Kenai. The best time to fish for silvers is late July or early August through September.

Rainbow trout
There’s no better place to catch big, beautiful rainbows than the Kenai River. They rush in to feast on the glut of salmon eggs, and they get huge on this abundant food source! The best time to fish for rainbows is June through October.

Sockeye salmon
Red (Sockeye) salmon are as delicious to eat as they are fun to catch. They typically weigh anywhere from 6 to 12 pounds. The best time to fish for reds is June through mid-August.

Steelhead trout are one of the most challenging and fascinating fish when it comes to Alaska fishing. They are a bit more difficult to catch but worth the effort. The best steelhead fishing is during spring and fall.
