YOU CAN'T BEAT
ALASKA FLY FISHING

Anglers from everywhere are starting to discover how incredible and fun the fly fishing is here on the Kenai Peninsula, and if you love to fly fish and haven’t made the trip to Alaska, you’re definitely missing out. Our guides are experts at targeting rainbow trout, steelhead, and even salmon at times.

STeeLHEAD FISHING

Alaska fly fishing is synonymous with great steelhead fishing and the Kenai Peninsula is one of the best areas to target Alaska steelhead. Most anglers have the opportunity to land steelhead on any trip. Your guide will put you in position to have a successful trip. We just ask that you fish hard and have patience. The best time to fish for steelhead is from mid September through November.

TROUT FISHING

Summertime is a great time for rainbow trout. Our guides are experts when it comes to knowing when and where to catch these brutes, and we’ll guide you right where you need to be. Fishing for rainbow trout is good in mid-late June and mid July until the beginning of August, then it really heats up in September and on into October. The average size of Kenai River trout is anywhere from 14-25 inches during the summer.  Larger fish are hooked and landed as well but not as often until the fall months. During the fall the catch rate improves drastically and the bigger trout come out to play!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR FLY FISHING ON THE KENAI?

The timing of your Alaska fly fishing trip will depend on what kind of fish you’re after

june

June is a great time for fly fishing because the trout are hungry and the days are longer.

July and August

This is the busiest time of year on the Kenai, and there’s good reason for that. The salmon are plentiful, and the trout are feeding strong. Expect to catch the following:

Fall and Early Wınter

Fall and early winter can actually be one of the best times to fish the Kenai! You’ll have to dress a little warmer, but you can still catch some trophy Steelhead and Trout. Silver salmon can be targeted at certain times on late season Trout trips. Fall trips typically start during the last week of August until early winter.
